Former Bachman-Turner Overdrive principals Randy Bachman and Fred Turner recently spent four days in New Orleans shooting scenes for the forthcoming movie 'Dog Fight.' The flick, which stars Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis as political candidates battling for office in North Carolina, features Bachman and Turner performing the BTO classic 'Taking Care of Business' at the winner's victory party.

"It was really hard work, long days and about 200 people on set," the band's manager Gilles Paquin tells the Winnipeg Free Press. "But it's one of the biggest movies of the year and it's great positioning for the band." The film's big-name cast also features Dan Aykroyd (Elwood!), Dylan McDermott, John Lithgow and Katherine LaNasa.

'Dog Fight' was directed by Jay Roach, who also helmed the blockbuster 'Austin Powers' trilogy. The second movie in that series, 'The Spy Who Shagged Me,' featured rocker Lenny Kravitz's cover of 'American Woman,' which, of course, Bachman wrote with Burton Cummings for the Guess Who back in 1970. When Roach realized Bachman's role in penning the original, "they went kind of crazy on that," Paquin joked.

'Dog Fight' is expected to hit theaters just before this year's presidential elections.
