Chad Childers has been a music lover since his parents dragged him along to an Aerosmith/Bachman Turner Overdrive show as an infant. His love of music turned into a career in the mid-90s when he left a job in the Midwest as a librarian and moved to California to intern for Westwood One Radio. That led to work researching for Casey Kasem's countdown shows, writing and producing the alternative and active rock-related prep services SpinFax, The Fax, and Rip, Read and Rock, producing and writing for Westwood One's concert series as well as doing interviews across all music and entertainment formats. Since joining Loudwire in 2012, he's served as senior editor and is one of the writers for the site, while also interviewing bands and covering and photographing music festivals and concerts. He's also written for Ultimate Classic Rock, Pop Crush, Screen Crush and The FW. Twitter: @ChadChilLW Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chad.childers

Banned Music Videos
There are certain things that are major hot button topics when it comes to what airs on television (yes, we're talking sex and violence), but that doesn't keep artists from pushing the envelope and seeing exactly how far they can take their videos. In the process, their artistic vision had to be reconsidered in certain cases as music networks decided to threaten the dreaded "ban." In oth
The Doors’ Robby Krieger Holds Out Hope for Reunion With John Densmore
The Doors may be reflecting on the 'Live at the Bowl '68' DVD and live album, but for Robby Krieger it's a little bit bittersweet considering the rift that he and Ray Manzarek have with the band's longtime drummer John Densmore.
Neil Young, ‘This Note’s for You’ – Banned Music Videos
Neil Young stayed away from nudity, didn't offer anything too sexually suggestive or hit on the hot button issue of drugs, so what got his video for 'This Note's for You' banned from MTV? It turns out that Young's anti-commercial track rankled MTV when it hit out at several high profile advertising sponsors, calling them out by name, which led the network to temporarily keep it off the airwaves.

Van Halen, ‘Oh Pretty Woman’ – Banned Music Videos
Van Halen's cover of Roy Orbison's 'Oh Pretty Woman' seemed innocent enough, but the director's vision for the video didn't exactly sit well with music video networks. The opening sequence featured a pair of little people holding a woman captive and repeatedly fondling her legs as she attempted to resist their advances.
Motley Crue, ‘Girls Girls Girls’ – Banned Music Videos
Motley Crue's love of a good time and excess was at its height in the mid-'80s and they decided to show some of that with their video for 'Girls Girls Girls.' The band ended up shooting a video for the stripper anthem at Los Angeles' Seventh Veil strip club, one of their favorite hangouts.
Billy Idol, ‘Cradle of Love’ – Banned Music Videos
There's no doubt that Billy Idol's 'Cradle of Love' was a steamy video with a seemingly innocent young woman doing her best seduction routine on an older businessman, but it wasn't the sexual content or age differential that set off the warning signs for MTV. Rather, it was the insertion of film clips from 'The Adventures of Ford Fairlane' that had the network initially balking.
Queen, ‘Body Language’ – Banned Music Videos
It was a different world in 1982, as music videos were still a new art form, so it comes as little surprise that even the hint of something sexually suggestive would get a very stern finger-wag from network executives. Queen's 'Body Language' was one such clip that earned a ban from MTV.
