The list of legendary acts who haven't won a Grammy should offer serious pause to anyone who considers the awards ceremony a key career milestone.

Think that's a strong statement? Well, just wait 'til you see the names on the following list of 32 Artists Who Surprisingly Haven't Won a Grammy. It includes Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, platinum-selling artists and true icons of the industry. In fact, some of the most famous, popular and – most importantly – influential artists in rock history have an empty space in their trophy cases.

The Grammys proudly calls itself "music's biggest night," and while the event is certainly a star-studded affair, the awards have been a pretty poor reflection of an artist's lasting impact.

Does anyone truly believe that Sir Mix-A-Lot, Vanilla Ice, Bobby McFerrin, Hootie & the Blowfish or the Baha Men have had more influential careers than Queen or the Cure? Of course not. Yet all of those acts have Grammys, while the rock legends have been shut out.
