Expect the unexpected when the Allman Brothers Band continue their annual run of shows at New York’s Beacon Theatre in a couple of months. “Spontaneous things will happen,” Gregg Allman told Rolling Stone.

The Allmans will play a total of 10 concerts during this year’s Beacon residency, which begins on March 7 and continues through March 22. Tickets go on sale Jan. 10.

Allman told Rolling Stone that the group, despite having played the Beacon more than 200 times since 1989, is still looking to mix things up onstage. “Going through the motions would be a real bore,” he said. “I know a band that plays the same songs in the same order, they even say the same s— at the same time every night. But, no, we’re all still real into it.”

Meanwhile, the band will release a new concert album from its vaults next month, ‘Boston Common 8/17/71,’ on its own label. The show was one of the last to include guitarist Duane Allman, who died in a motorcycle accident on Oct. 29, 1971. Legacy Recordings will also release a new concert record in February, ‘Play All Night: Live at the Beacon Theatre 1992.’ Plus, ‘Live at Great Woods,’ a DVD featuring a 1991 show from Mansfield, Mass., is also due next month.
