He's been beheaded onstage, but he's never taken live abuse quite like this: accepting an invitation from Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres, Alice Cooper took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in front of a screaming crowd on Aug. 20.

As you can see in the above video, the action all went down in front of the audience at the Virginia Beach stop on Cooper's co-headlining tour with Motley Crue -- and when it came time to nominate others to take the plunge, Cooper didn't look far, naming all the guys in the Crue as well as his movie-star pal Johnny Depp. As you can see here, Motley Crue quickly accepted Cooper's challenge with their own onstage dunking, and named Aerosmith, Def Leppard and Kiss to follow suit.

Paul Stanley has already accepted on behalf of Kiss, naming Aug. 22 as the date with the shivers -- and they're sure to call out some famous friends of their own before they take the plunge.

At the rate this challenge is going, we're expecting to see a few poor latecomers shamed into public displays of teeth-chattering well after winter. In the meantime, Cooper's going the extra mile for ALS research, offering the shirt he was wearing during this show as well as his "post ice bath robe" to benefit ALS.org. With more than $20 million in donations and counting, it's safe to call this viral display of philanthropy a huge success.
