The semifinals of the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame pits Aerosmith and John Fogerty against each other for the chance to be the 11th entry in our 100 percent fan-voted contest.

Every month, our readers will decide which of eight legendary artists or bands will be honored for their contributions to the genre. Aerosmith took care of Bachman-Turner Overdrive's business easily enough in the first round, with 73 percent of the vote.

They will be going up against Fogerty, who defeated his friend and occasional performing partner Bruce Springsteen in a comparatively closer race, taking 53 percent of the final tally. But that shouldn't bother Springsteen too much. After all, Springsteen has often cited the former Creedence Clearwater Revival as a major influence, calling him the "Hank Williams of his generation."

So which of these two brilliant, but different, classic rock artists will get a spot in the finals? That’s your call. You can cast your semifinals ballot once a day between now and Feb. 23, 2014, at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be announced on March 3. Be sure to read our official rules, and good luck to both of these fine Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame candidates!
