Ultimate Classic Rock will co-promote a live conversation with Ace Frehley next month. Moderated by Ryan J. Downey, the chat will take place on Sept. 25 at the MI Concert Hall in Los Angeles from 7:30-9:30PM.

Frehley is getting set to release Spaceman, which arrives Oct. 19. With eight originals and a cover of Eddie Money's "I Wanna Go Back," the album is his first collection of mostly all-new material since 2014's Space Invader. He's released two singles from the record so far, "Bronx Boy" and "Rockin' With the Boys."

Spaceman also features contributions on bass from his former Kiss bandmate Gene Simmons, who plays on "Your Wish Is My Command" and "Without You I'm Nothing," the latter of which they wrote together at Frehley's house in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. Frehley said they knocked out two songs in three hours.

"We initially each picked up an acoustic guitar," he said. "I don't remember who came up with the beginning of the song. One guy plays one thing and then I play another thing. I think Gene actually came up with more ideas than I did and I just kind of complemented them. And then I started writing lyrics for a song title, which I don't wanna give away yet. And then we kind of took a break and then he started playing this bass line and said, 'Ace, play these three chords against it,' and within 30 minutes we had a second song. I was really pleased, and so was he."

Our sister site Loudwire and the MI College of Contemporary Music are co-promoting the conversation. The event is free, but you'll need to RSVP at Eventbrite using the code SPACEMAN. The MI Concert Hall is located at 1655 N. McCadden Pl. in Los Angeles.
