AC/DC Talk About Going on Without Malcolm Young in New Video

As the release date for AC/DC‘s new album, ‘Rock or Bust,’ approaches, the band has been in full promotional mode lately, talking about their new album, ailing guitarist Malcolm Young and their legacy after 40 years.

In a new exclusive video with our sister site Loudwire, guitarist Angus Young and Brian Johnson chat about continuing on without Angus’ brother Malcolm, who was diagnosed with dementia earlier this year.

“Malcolm did say one statement, and when Malcolm says something, you usually listen,” says Johnson. “He said, ‘Keep making music.’ He knew what was happening. He’s the hardest man I’ve ever met in my life and the straightest shooter … He just said what he meant, and what he said usually meant a lot.”

As for going on tour without Malcolm, Angus says that the Youngs’ nephew Stevie, who has filled in for Malcolm before and appears on ‘Rock or Bust’ and will perform on the upcoming tour, “plays like Mal — that same style.” In other words, a natural fit.
