A crowdfunded documentary about the life and times of Twisted Sister has been acquired for distribution.

The project, titled We Are Twisted F---ing Sister, was announced last year, when director Andrew Horn took to Indiegogo in a successful bid to round up the $150,000 he needed to finish the film. Horn's efforts were endorsed by frontman Dee Snider, who lauded Horn's ability to get at the heart of his band's "Rocky-esque story of a band of brothers from the New York area who toughed it out for nearly a decade before finding fame and fortune."

Snider's enthusiasm is shared by Ed Arentz, managing partner of Music Box Films, where rights to We Are Twisted F---ing Sister now reside. "Andrew Horn has delivered a quintessential rock documentary," says Arentz in a statement. "It's a film that obviously speaks to Twisted's legion of fans, but will allow a whole new audience to experience the '70s NYC suburban rock club scene in all its sweaty, grimy, glittery glory, and what it took to become its undisputed masters."

While Twisted wends its way toward official release, and Twisted Sister continue laying the groundwork for its upcoming farewell tour, Snider is making plans for the 2015 performance of his Rock & Roll Christmas Tale, a stage production that made its debut last year. As he recently announced on Twitter, Tale will next surface in Toronto:

According to the official synopsis, the show "tells the story of Däisy Cütter, a heavy metal bar band looking to make it big even though the '80s are long over. This year, these four guys are ready to take the ultimate step and, in mythic rock tradition, sell their souls to the devil in exchange for success beyond their wildest metal dreams! But every time they try to seal the infernal pact, their head-banging anthems turn into warm-hearted carols. Soon these rockers are forced to realize their dreams of stardom are no match for the Christmas spirit."
