Twisted Sister returned to the stage on May 30, performing their first set since the death of drummer A.J. Pero in March.

As previously reported, the band was part of a package bill at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas called Metal Meltdown. Along with Skid Row, Great White and Extreme — the latter of whom were performing their Pornograffiti II LP in its entirety in honor of the album's 25th anniversary — Twisted Sister played some of their best-known songs (check out their set list below).

The show marked the live debut of new drummer Mike Portnoy, the Dream Theater and Winery Dogs vet who will be joining them for a string of dates that will carry them through their 2016 farewell tour, which they're calling Forty and F--- It. (According to the Twisted Sister Facebook page, the 2015 shows are being called the Sound of Thunder tour.)

Calling the set "a salute to their fallen brother," the band's webmaster posted a note calling May 30's performance "Hard-hitting, crowd-pleasing, funny as hell and totally uncompromising" and noting, "Mike Portnoy picked up the torch and flat out rocked it — a performance that very few drummers (short of AJ himself) could have matched." You can watch a few minutes of footage from the show above.
