Duff McKagan’s Loaded End Two-Year Concert Hiatus With Benefit Concert

Duff McKagan's Loaded has had to take a back seat to his many other projects over the past couple of years, but on March 3, the band took the stage for the first time in two years, performing a benefit set in honor of guitarist Mike Squire's mother.

The show, which took place at Slim's Last Chance Saloon in Seattle, was organized to help contribute to the GoFundMe campaign established to aid Squire's mother in her battle against cancer. You can check out some photos from the concert, and catch a glimpse of the set courtesy of the above video, which was filmed on an iPhone by photographer Mike Savoia and captures them running through a cover of the Misfits' "Attitude" that leads into the Cameo classic "Word Up," followed by Guns N' Roses' "It's So Easy."

"Thank you so much for coming out to Slim's last night and supporting Loaded and Mike's mom at the benefit," wrote the band in a Facebook post following the concert. "What a fun show! Special thanks to Celeste, Slim's & the whole staff there and also to Monster Energy Drink for stepping up strong with much needed sponsorship."

The gig was just one part of an impressive ongoing effort to help Squire's mother — as shown on the Loaded Facebook page, there have also been a number of auctions, including one that offered two days of recording time at the Foo Fighters' studio and ultimately ended in a $17,100 winning bid.
