In news from outside the world of classic rock, a couple could be facing misdemeanor charges after they performed a sex act on stage during a concert by the Dead Kennedys.

San Diego’s KGTV reports that the incident took place during a concert given by the seminal ‘80s Bay Area punk band on Thursday (Jan. 15) at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA. Apparently, a woman took the name of the club literally, as she lied down on the stage naked while a man attempted to satisfy her.

“This was something definitely different to see at a punk concert,” a concertgoer named Chris, who did not give his last name, said. “I think it was more an oddity, people just saw something strange for a few minutes,”

According to the local penal code, public exposure is classified as a misdemeanor, but only if someone is “offended or annoyed” by the behavior. As of now, the sheriff’s department has not received any complaints.

The club’s management released the following statement. "Of course, we don't condone this activity in our establishment and security stopped it right away. This is certainly a first for us." However, the claim that they stopped it is being disputed on Reddit by some who say they were in attendance.

The Dead Kennedys are no stranger to controversy. Their 1985 album, ‘Frankenchrist,’ saw them placed on trial for the inclusion of an H.R. Giger painting, ‘Penis Landscape,’ as an insert. The band was acquitted on charges of distribution of harmful matter to minors.
