Nickelodeon superstar SpongeBob SquarePants returns to theaters Feb. 6 with his new movie 'Sponge Out of Water,' and he's bringing some famous friends with him -- including Slash.

The former Guns N' Roses guitarist can be seen in the first trailer for the film, which brings SpongeBob out of the cartoon universe and into our own for an adventure pitting the show's goofy-voiced hero and his pals against the dread Pirate Burger-Beard (voiced by Antonio Banderas).

The extent of Slash's involvement in the film is unknown, although it's been described as a cameo that most likely won't last much longer than this brief glimpse of him busking on the beach. And while it might seem like kind of a strange pairing, Slash is a fan of the show; as he told the Hollywood Reporter in 2013, "The most embarrassing thing would be the amount of cartoons that I watch, including 'SpongeBob.'"

He isn't the only rocker with some level of involvement in 'Sponge Out of Water.' The movie's second trailer, a 30-second TV spot that condenses the longer version above, is set to the strains of Twisted Sister's 'We're Not Gonna Take It.' You can check that one out below.
