Long after the departure of Peter Frampton, a revised version of Humble Pie soldiered on into the ‘80s. Deadline Music has announced plans to release a deluxe edition of two Humble Pie albums from that era with bonus material.

‘On To Victory,’ released in 1980, spawned the Billboard Top 100 hit ‘Fool For A Pretty Face’ and led to touring with Ted Nugent and Aerosmith. The busy period of activity was quickly followed with the 1981 release of ‘Go For The Throat.’ Both albums will be packaged together for a March 13 release that will add a bonus disc of live material recorded in Los Angeles in 1981.

The ‘80s version of Humble Pie featured originals Steve Marriott on vocals and guitar and drummer Jerry Shirley, joined by Bobby Tench (Jeff Beck Group, Van Morrison) and bassist Anthony “Sooty” Jones.

The deluxe edition features full liner notes and rare photos and will be available both digitally and as a two-CD digipak. Vinyl lovers will be able to purchase the live material separately as ‘California ’81.’

The '80s material will go nicely alongside the upcoming re-releases of three ‘70s era Humble Pie albums that are scheduled to come out in the spring. With their classic ‘Performance’ live album marking its 40th anniversary, there will appropriately be plenty of ‘Pie for all to enjoy.
