Album of the Year: 2015 Ultimate Classic Rock Awards
The album of the year nominees in the 2015 Ultimate Classic Rock Awards arrive a year after rock was declared dead. But judging from the long list of terrific classic-rock records we added to our collections over the past 12 months, it would seem that — to paraphrase Huey Lewis — the heart of our favorite genre’s still beating. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite releases for the Album of the Year category in the 2015 Ultimate Classic Rock Awards.
We’re offering you a list of 14 nominees to choose from, and we think it’s a pretty diverse collection. From veteran acts who’ve remained continuously prolific as they sail into their golden years (like Neil Young and Bob Dylan) to long-overdue returns from out-of-hibernation artists (like David Gilmour and Don Henley), 2015 offered something to savor for rock fans across the spectrum. Whether your tastes run to the all-out assault of Motörhead, the polished AOR of Toto or the instrumental wizardry of Joe Satriani, you’ve got something to choose from here.
And if you simply can’t decide? Not to worry — after you vote, you can keep coming back every hour to cast your ballot again and again until all of your favorites are covered, from now until voting ends Jan. 4, 2016, at 11:59PM ET. As always, the winner will be decided solely by reader’s votes, so don’t be shy about hitting those polls — and may the best album win!
