Bassist Trevor Bolder, best known for his work with Uriah Heep and David Bowie & the Spiders From Mars died on May 21 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was just 62 years old. Bolder's first band of note was the Rats who also featured a young guitar hero named Mick Ronson. Both would go on to play with David Bowie in his glam/Ziggy era heyday, playing on such LP's as 'Hunky Dory,' 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars,' ‘Aladdin Sane’ and ‘Pin Ups.’ He went on to replace John Wetton in Uriah Heep, where he remained (except for a short departure) until January of 2013, when he left to deal with his illness.
