Marshall Lytle, bassist for rock and roll pioneers Bill Haley and the Comets, died from lung cancer on May 25 at the age of 79. Lytle (pictured far right in the photo) was the Comets’ bassist from 1951 through 1955 and played on most of the groups signature hits including ‘Rock Around the Clock’ and ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll.’
