Songwriter George Jackson died on April 14, after a year-long bout with cancer. He was 68.

Jackson is best known as the co-writer of the Bob Seger classic ‘Old Time Rock and Roll’ from his his 1978 album ‘Stranger in Town.' A wide variety of artists recorded his songs, from Wilson Pickett and Clarence Carter to Ike & Tina Turner and even the Osmonds.
