Songwriter Diane Lampert passed away at the age of 88 on Feb. 25 from heart failure. Though not a household name, her songs have links to many big names including the Beatles, Brenda Lee, Joan Baez and Harry Nilsson. The Beatles recorded one of her songs, ‘Nothin’ Shakin’ (But the Leaves on the Trees)’ for a BBC session in 1963. The performance remained unreleased until the1994 collection ‘Live at the BBC.' She is survived by her husband of 45 years.
