Artist Arturo Vega died on June 8. He was 65 years old. Vega was a close associate of the Ramones, creating the band's iconic logo. He also served as their archivist and live show lighting director. The cause of death has yet to be reported.

Vega befriended the band members in their earliest days, giving Joey and Dee Dee a place to live at his loft as they were getting the band together. He called them "the ultimate all-American band." Fellow fixture of the CBGB scene, Legs McNeil broke the news, calling Vega  "the must optimistic, jubilant and fun pal anyone could wish for."
