Alan Myers, drummer with Devo, passed away on June 25 after a battle with cancer. Myers joined the Akron, Ohio band in 1976 and was with them through their most creative and significant period, playing on all the band's classic LP's. He left the group in 1986 due to musical differences as the band began to incorporate heavy use of drum machines and programming.

Devo bassist Gerry Casale called him "a human metronome and then some."
