Longtime Doobie Brothers drummer Michael Hossack passed away March 12 due to complications from cancer. In his first stint with the band from 1971 to 1973, Hossack played on such hits as 'China Grove,’ ‘Long Train Runnin’,’ and ‘Black Water.’ He left the lineup shortly thereafter, but returned when the Doobies reunited in 1987 after a 5 year break, and stayed until his illness forced him to take leave in 2010.

He was 65 years old, and leaves behind a son and a daughter.
