Mark Reale, who formed Riot in 1975 and remained the sole consistent member throughout much of the band's career, died Jan. 25 at age 56, two weeks after being admitted to a San Antonio hospital for complications relating to his long-running struggle with Crohn’s disease. Riot's visibility peaked in the '80s but the group continued to remain active since. ”With heart felt thanks to the fans around the world … the RIOT army meant everything in the world to Mark, it’s what kept him going," read a post on MarkReale.com.
