Huw Lloyd Langton, on-again off-again guitarist with legendary British rockers Hawkwind, died on Dec. 6 after a battle with cancer according to a statement on the band's official website. Langton played with the psychedelic band at various points in their over forty year existence, first in the early '70s, then again in the '80s. He rejoined them in 2001, and as recently as last year he made live appearances with the band.

Langton also played with pop singer Leo Sayer and hard rockers Widowmaker, a band he formed with ex-Mott The Hoople guitarist Ariel Bender (aka Luther Grosvenor). According to his website, he contracted Legionnaires Disease in 2001, which left him hospitalized. Langton was 61 years old.
